LaFleur appeared to get into a shouting match with a man who appeared to be on the field helping raise the American flag during the national anthem before kickoff. The two were eventually separated by Packers staff and game officials, an incident that stunned the veteran head coach.

“I've never been a part of anything like that,” he told reporters after the game.
“He was talking trash to our players and giving them signs to cut their throats. And you were trying to defuse it, and he attacked me in the face.”
LaFleur expressed disappointment that fans were not removed before the situation worsened.

“I thought it was pretty unsportsmanlike behavior. I've never seen anything like that. I've been to a lot of stadiums and usually they police it better. Arrogant fans who want to be in on the action.” I thought so,” he said. .
“I hope security or something steps in and gets him out of there, because he shouldn't be doing that.”

Green Bay has struggled in district play this season, going 1-3 against the Lions on Thursday, falling 34-31. Still, with an 8-1 record against opponents outside of the NFC North, they remain in good enough shape to earn a spot in the wild-card playoffs.
