oppenheimer Star Emma Dumont has come out as a so-called “transmasculine non-binary” person and changed her name to Nick Dumont.
Dumont played actor Cillian Murphy's sister-in-law Jackie in the Oscar-winning film. oppenheimerwho is reportedly now using “they/them” instead of “she/her” and has changed his first name to “Nick” on his Instagram profile.
However, Dumont's name and pronoun change will only be used by family and friends, as the 30-year-old actress plans to continue using “Emma” in the professional world.
“They identify as transmasculine non-binary people. Their professional name will remain Emma Dumont, but their friends and family will refer to them as Nick.” said a representative for Dumont. said TMZ.
The term “transmasculine” refers to people who identify with their biological sex, but for some reason prefer to identify as the opposite sex through expression.
Dumont last posted to her Instagram account on Tuesday, sharing four photos of herself with a shorter hairstyle than earlier this year.
