JetBlue nixing routes between multiple major cities, reducing several others

Passengers who rely on JetBlue routes between certain U.S. cities may need to make other travel plans in the near future.

JetBlue confirmed that more than six routes will be discontinued in 2025, including several routes to Florida, New York and Texas. Changes are also being made to several other routes, including international routes that operate only seasonally or with certain aircraft. .

JetBlue indicated that soon-to-be-discontinued routes are “underperforming” the company.

“We recently made network adjustments in certain markets, removing some underperforming flights from our schedule. This allows us to free up resources, including our popular Mint service, to serve high-demand markets and new opportunities. Now available for redeployment,” the airline's statement said.

“In the coming weeks, we will announce how we will redeploy this capacity, including across our European network, to offer our customers even more travel options,” the company added.

JetBlue says the following routes on the chopping block will be eliminated or “not return” next year:

  • Westchester, NY (HPN) – Charleston (CHS)
  • Jacksonville (JAX) – Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
  • New York (JFK) – Austin (AUS)
  • New York (JFK) – Houston (IAH)
  • New York (JFK) – Miami (MIA)
  • New York (JFK) – Milwaukee (MKE)
  • All flights to and from San Jose, CA (SJC)

JetBlue has focused on flights between New York and Austin. New York and Houston. And New York and Milwaukee used to only have “summer seasons.” JetBlue said its seasonal summer routes between New York and London Gatwick (LGW) have also been canceled, but flights to London Heathrow (LHR) will remain.

In addition to the routes that will not resume service, the airline is also reducing service on several other routes. Three routes between Boston (BOS) and Phoenix (PHX), between Boston and Grenada (GND), and between New York and Tulum (TQO) will be limited to winter routes. Another flight between New York and Paris (CDG) will lose its second daily summer seasonal service. And since all flights to and from Seattle will be operated on JetBlue's all-core aircraft, only basic seats will be offered. “core” – seat.

JetBlue said customers flying these routes may still be able to find “alternative flight options” on its website.

“If an alternative route is not available, customers will be offered a refund,” the airline said.

Most of these changes are expected to come into effect “around April 30” next year, an airline spokesperson confirmed.
