Advertising giants Interpublic, Omnicom in talks to merge: report

Advertising and marketing conglomerate Omnicom Group is in talks to acquire Interpublic Group in an all-stock deal that would likely value Interpublic at $13 billion to $14 billion, excluding debt. About. The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.

New York-based Omnicom competes with Interpublic Group of Companies and Britain's WPP and is one of the world's largest integrated advertising and communications companies with more than 5,000 customers.

Interpublic, which has customers in sectors ranging from health care to retail, had a market value of about $10.9 billion as of Friday, and its stock price has fallen 10% since the beginning of the year to $29.48.
