Monopoly $$$ in Backpack Thought to Belong to Brian Thompson’s Killer

A backpack believed to belong to UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson's killer was found in Central Park on Friday and contained Monopoly money, sources told ABC News.

Breitbart News reported that Thompson, 50, was shot to death just after 6:45 a.m. Wednesday outside the Hilton Hotel in midtown Manhattan.

On Friday, Breitbart News reported that police found a backpack matching the one seen on the suspect's back in surveillance video.

bloomberg reported A person familiar with the matter said the New York City Police Department “found a gray backpack that matched the bag belonging to the murderer of health insurance executive Brian Thompson.”

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenney said that after the suspect shot and killed Thompson, he rode his bike through the park and “exited the bike off 77th Street.”

ABC News pointed A source close to the investigation into the backpack revealed that the investigation suggests the backpack only contained “two items: a Tommy Hilfiger jacket and Monopoly money.”

Police believe the suspect left New York City on Wednesday after killing Thompson.
