“The View” co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro got into a heated debate Monday over whether it's time to start “panicking” about President-elect Donald Trump's return to the Oval Office.
Goldberg suggested that viewers should spend the six weeks leading up to the holidays and Inauguration Day (January 20) with their families or work, but not get too excited about the incoming administration, citing anti-Trump Republicans. inspired strategists.
“Listen, he's making a lot of noise,” Goldberg, 69, said of Trump. “He says he's going to do all these things. …He does this to panic you all.
“All we have to do from now until January 21st is be with our families. Be with our kids. Do our jobs. Checks bounce. Please make sure we take care of ourselves and our families.”
“Anything [Trump’s] He's going to do it, he's going to do it. But take our word for it. “Things seem to be moving slowly,” the “Sister Act” star added, adding that after defeating Hillary Clinton for the White House in 2016, the former president and soon-to-be president “grabbed… I couldn't do it,” he said.
Navarro, 52, agreed that Goldberg was speaking from a position of “privilege.”
“We can afford to say things like that because we're legal. We've been successful. We're — listen, if you're an illegal immigrant in this country, you shouldn't panic. No,” she said.
“If you're a woman working in the Department of Defense, you have a right to panic,” Navarro insisted.
Goldberg was furious at his co-host. “Anna, you're telling people to stay safe and stay the course.”
“No! I'm telling people to get ready, Whoopi,” Navarro retorted. “I'm telling people to be prepared.”
“You think they're not ready? They are! Mr. Goldberg asserted.
Navarro argued that people “cannot relax and enjoy Christmas when winter is approaching.”

“No! That's not what I meant,” Mr. Goldberg replied.
“Winter is here,” the actor and comedian insisted. “Winter has been with us. What I'm saying is, you can lie down and do nothing for the next 15 days, but then you can be a mess for the next four or two years. is.”
Navarro went back to her original premise that Goldberg and the other women on set had the advantage of not having to panic.
“We are in a privileged position that many of the people who will be at the receiving end of his attack are not,” she countered.
The exchange lasted two and a half minutes as music played in the background to signal a commercial break.
“We don't know what people are panicking about,” Goldberg continued.
“They're throwing 50,000 things at you to make you do this,” she added. “I'm telling you not to believe it.”
“Once we knew what we were fighting, we would go out and fight.”
