Jamie Foxx is back and better than ever.
After suffering a mysterious illness last year and spending a week in a coma in the hospital, Fox, 55, went on record to correct his own health crisis.
In the Netflix comedy special “Jamie Foxx: What Happened'', he detailed the circumstances that led to his medical emergency. The special was filmed in Atlanta in October.

Foxx broke down emotionally multiple times during the special as she explained to fans what led to her week-long coma.
“I was fighting for my life,” Fox began to explain. “On April 11th, I had a bad headache so I asked my son for aspirin…before I could get any aspirin…I left. I don't remember anything about those 20 days.”
The “Beat Shazam” host said he was in a coma that lasted several weeks and was on the brink of death. Fox's health was severely deteriorating and his vitals were declining.
After Fox's first doctor's visit, doctors gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home. But his sister Deidre Dixon recalled Fox being “lethargic” and knew something was “wrong” with him. She continued to look for other hospitals and urged doctors to do more to help her brother.

When Fox was admitted to the hospital, doctors told his family that he had suffered a hemorrhage on the brain, which was causing the stroke.
“If we don't get inside his head right now, we're going to lose him,” declared a doctor at Piedmont Hospital.
After Fox's surgery, the doctor said to his sister: suffering from a stroke. He may make a full recovery, but this will be the worst year of his life.”
Fox continued: “I was dizzy from the stroke…I don't remember anything for 20 days. I woke up on May 4th. When I woke up, I was in a wheelchair. I couldn't walk.” Ta.
“The 'Django Unchained' actor believed his stroke was a 'prank' at the time. He continued to see therapists during his recovery until a medical worker requested that Foxx stop the stroke. He refused because he was convinced that Jamie Foxx was not allowed. Don't take the stroke. ”
“Listen, you have to beat this, stop this whole Jamie Foxx—, this arrogant bull—, that stroke is about who you are. “I don't care at all,'' the therapist told him.
Fox claimed that the moment gave him a reality check and that he came out of it and worked hard to recover.
At the time of the health crisis, Foxx was in Georgia working on the Netflix film Back in Action, co-starring Cameron Diaz. He was treated at a Georgia hospital as he was “undergoing tests.” Fox returned with “Back in Action,” set in January 2024.

Mr Fox said his daughters Corinne and Anneliese and his sister were “holding it down” at the hospital. Corinne refused to let anyone else visit Fox because she didn't want anyone to see him in the hospital. He revealed that doctors had given him “all sorts of medicines” but they had “no effect”.
Fox added that he relied heavily on his faith during his near-death experience before witnessing a miracle.
Anneliese strummed the guitar for him while he was in a coma. As her guitar playing became part of her daily routine at the hospital, Fox's vitals miraculously began to improve.
“My vitals were so bad that they were going to lose me. Then a miracle happened, and that miracle was working through my youngest daughter. She is 14 years old – I I didn't want her to see me like that, but she snuck into the house.''I took my guitar to the hospital room. “I know what Daddy needs,” Fox explained.
“When she was playing, my vitals… went down… God was in that guitar. It was a mental defibrillator.”

Doctors couldn't explain what happened to Fox, but he finally woke up from his coma after his daughter continued to play guitar for him.
Meanwhile, Fox likened Sean “Diddy” Combs to the devil in a Netflix special.
“Your life doesn't flash before your eyes. It was strangely peaceful. I could see the tunnel, but I couldn't see the light,” Fox said.
“It was kind of hot in the tunnel… Maybe I went to the wrong place? I looked at the end of the tunnel and thought I saw the devil… or was it Puffy? I'm kidding, but… 'If it's Puffy, he's got a flaming bottle of Johnson's and…no, I'm just kidding. ”
Fox addressed allegations that he was responsible for Combs' hospitalization.
“The internet said, 'Puffy tried to kill me.' I know what you're thinking, 'Diddy?'” Foxx joked. “Oh my god – I left their party early.. I went out by 9:00, but something didn't seem right. It's slippery here. ”
“If you can stay funny, you'll stay alive,” the comedian said throughout the special, doing several impressions, including one of President-elect Donald Trump on stand-up.
In April 2023, Fox's medical scare rocked the headlines.
Corinne revealed on April 12 that her father is recovering from complications.
“Fortunately, thanks to quick action and extreme care, he is already on the road to recovery,” she wrote on social media at the time. “We know how much he is loved and appreciate your prayers. The family requests that their privacy be respected during this time.”

In May 2023, Nick Cannon replaced Fox as host of the music game show Beat Shazam. The following month, Foxx missed the premiere of his new film, They Clone Tyrone. At the time, his co-stars revealed that he did not respond to calls due to his medical mystery.

Three months after battling “complications” in his private life, he addressed the issue in a video posted to Instagram, admitting he was “going through hell and back.”

Fox has previously credited his sister Deidre and daughter Corinne with saving his life.

Mr Fox also addressed the rumors that spread during his hospitalization alleging blindness and paralysis, saying the allegations were untrue and that he had “been to hell and back”.
“There were some holes in the road to recovery, but I'm back and able to work,” he said at the time.

According to IMDb, the Grammy winner has eight upcoming projects, and finished filming this year on “Back in Action” after production was halted due to the health scare.
The long-awaited Mike Tyson biopic has been in the works for nearly a decade. Tyson will executive produce alongside Antoine Fuqua and Martin Scorsese, as well as Fox.
Born Eric Marlon Bishop, he paid homage to Redd Foxx, a civil rights pioneer and successful comedian who played Fred G. Sanford on the TV show Sanford and Son. and changed the name.
Foxx shares Colin, 30, with ex Connie Klein. The “Ray” star also has a 15-year-old daughter, Anneliese Bishop, with ex Christine Grannis.
Fox is known for his roles in the Michael Mann biopic “In Living Color,” “Ali,” “Rio,” “Django Unchained,” and his character Ray Charles. The series concluded with a Netflix special highlighting all of his projects throughout his successful career, all the way up to “Color.'' in the Oscar-winning biopic “Ray.” Fox concluded the special by performing popular songs with Kanye West, including “Slow Jams” and “Gold Digger.”
