Canada's federal public safety minister, Dominic LeBlanc, announced that 324 firearms have been added to the country's ban on assault-style firearms.
He made the announcement at a press conference on December 5, 2024.
In 2020, the Canadian government banned 1,500 firearms, termed “assault-style firearms,” and last week's press conference announced that more than 300 firearms had been added to that list. referred to As a “next step.”

Individuals who legally purchased and currently possess one of the 324 newly banned firearms will be granted an amnesty period that expires on October 30, 2025. The amnesty period is a period during which owners of the additional 324 designated firearms may comply with the following rules: Prohibited.
In a press release about the newly banned firearms, the Canadian government said it would consider “how these and previously banned firearms can be donated to support Ukraine's fight for democracy.” It was revealed that it was inside.
