Luxury McLaren sports car split in half in Texas crash that killed two

A horrific car crash in Texas on Monday ripped a nearly $200,000 McLaren in two and killed two people.

Alarming photos show a black luxury sports car colliding with a Toyota Corolla and then a tree, breaking it in half near the intersection of Abrams Road and Royal Lane in Dallas around 3 p.m. The photo shows how it looked. FOX4 News reported.

The passengers in the McLaren, Cristóbal Flores Espino, 29, and Robert Leroy Rocha, 31, died.

Photos showed the front half of the hot rod, believed to be a 570S model, near a tree and the back half about 30 feet from the road.

The driver of the Toyota crashed into a tree and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth

A gold Toyota sedan also collided with a tree, sustaining significant damage to its front end. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the paper said.

The cause of the crash is unknown. Police said an investigation is ongoing.

The McLaren 570S starts at $191,000 and can reach 102 mph in just 3.2 seconds.
