New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said the mysterious drones circling the sky are “very sophisticated” and “black out as soon as we see them”, but drones pose a threat to public safety. He assured the residents that it was not a problem.
Murphy acknowledged frustration over mysterious sightings at a news conference Monday, noting that 49 sightings were reported on Sunday alone, mostly in Hunterdon County. Newsweek reported.
“Most importantly, there are no public safety concerns,” Murphy said, adding that local, state and federal authorities are investigating the unusual recurrence.
Murphy said the drones that have appeared across the Garden State and New York state over the past month are so high-tech that it's difficult for authorities to track them and determine their source.
“From what I understand, these are obviously very sophisticated. As soon as your eyes go into it, it goes black,” Murphy said.
A spate of sightings across the tri-state area has raised alarm among residents, many of whom have taken countless videos of the unidentified aircraft and shared them on social media in recent weeks, leaving local authorities searching for answers. I'm in a hurry to find it.

Murphy told residents last week that authorities including the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security were investigating, even as drones continued to fly over homes, neighborhoods and military installations across the state.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, footage was released of a drone's lights flashing and “going back and forth” over Bergan County.
“It's not a plane…no, it's too quiet. It's a drone,” said the woman who took the recent footage, adding that she counted five or six flying machines hovering overhead.
New Jersey State Police and the Department of Homeland Security will hold a conference Wednesday to provide additional information about the investigation, but the meeting will be closed to the public and reporters. According to CBS.
