Pentagon yet to ask NORTHCOM to intervene against New Jersey drones

The Pentagon has not yet asked U.S. Northern Command to intervene amid reports of a mysterious drone flying over New Jersey, a military spokesperson said.

Dozens of sightings of large drones have been reported, causing concern and confusion as authorities struggle to explain where they came from. The Northern Command confirmed that some of the drones were seen near US military facilities.

“We are aware of and monitoring reports of unauthorized drone flights near military installations in New Jersey, including Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earle. “We will introduce you to those facilities to get information about our efforts to ensure the safety and security of our personnel and operations,” a U.S. Northern Command spokesperson told FOX News Digital.

The spokesperson added that the FBI and local law enforcement are currently investigating the sighting.

Federal lawmakers from both parties expressed concern about the drone sightings and called on national security officials to release more information as soon as possible.
