Republican governors across the country have pledged to cooperate with President-elect Donald Trump's plan to carry out the largest deportation program in U.S. history.

An estimated 8 million immigrants have been released into the interior of the United States since President Joe Biden took office in late January 2021, but the vast majority do not have valid asylum claims.

According to previous studies, there are currently between 11 million and 22 million illegal aliens living in the United States.

During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing this week, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that under former Presidents Barack Obama and Trump, the average number of deportees per year was about 250,000. He explained in detail that the situation had fluctuated back and forth.

But since Biden took office, the number of deportations per year has fallen to an average of less than 132,000 people, even as a record number of illegal immigrants cross the southern border.
