Increased testosterone levels in bucks have led to multiple reports of deer attacking dogs in Colorado parks and wildlife in recent weeks. One such incident occurred in the backyard of a Castle Pines family home, and the entire attack was caught on video.
Tamer Pyster was distressed to see footage of her four-year-old Bernese mountain dog, Luke, being attacked not only by a deer but also by a large sum of money.
“I don't like it when the sound is on. It's just horrible,” Peister said.

“As I was photographing the buck, Luke ran outside to go to the bathroom and into the backyard, and the buck immediately charged at him,” Peister said.
After the attack, the deer remained in the family's backyard for hours. The family, who was inside the house, noticed that their dog was bleeding and immediately took it to the veterinarian.
“He said he was stabbed deep into the muscle,” Peister said. “And the vet said if he was smaller and didn't have a few inches of fur, it probably would have been fatal.”
Due to the deep cut, Luke will receive stitches and medication and will have to play cone sports while he heals.
