Why No. 22 was vital to Mets’ Juan Soto signing

No. 22 is so important to Juan Soto that he included it in his record-setting 15-year, $765 million contract and will continue to wear No. 22 with the Mets.

He also has a gold chain with his number 22 on it, which he wore during Thursday's inaugural press conference at Citi Field.

“22 was the first number I wore when I got to the big leagues,” the superstar outfielder said. “That was important to me. When the Nationals gave me that number, I was really happy and really excited. It was the first number I ever wore and I'll always cherish that number. I want to come.”
