Jets’ Breece Hall sits out another practice with knee injury

Breece Hall has said little about why he hopes to be back for the Jets-Jaguars game.

He missed practice for the second consecutive day Thursday due to a left knee injury.

He missed the Jets' 32-26 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday due to an injury, the first game he missed this season.

It was the same knee he suffered a torn ACL in 2022.

Hall rushed for 692 yards and four touchdowns and added 401 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Without him, rookies Braylon Allen and Isaiah Davis have done the heavy lifting.

Passing game coordinator Todd Downing, who has been in charge of play-calling duties since Week 6, singled out both players for praise.

Downing highlighted Allen's block on Calais Campbell in Sunday's loss, giving Aaron Rodgers enough time to find Garrett Wilson for a 42-yard pass.

Downing also gushed about Davis, who scored on a stretch run play to the outside, something Downing said he's been working on in practice.

“That play [by Allen] It encapsulates who they are,” Downing said Thursday. “They'll do anything to help us win. They're eager and excited to get better with techniques that are new to them. They'll run schemes that are new to them. They're always there and really It's been fun. I've been really happy for Isaiah. …It's been fun to see their efforts come to fruition in so many different ways.”

Aliyah Bella Tucker (ankle) missed practice for the second consecutive day.

DJ Reed (groin) also did not practice after being a limited participant on Wednesday.

Haason Reddick (illness) missed Wednesday's practice and was a limited participant.

Davante Adams did not practice Thursday, but that was due to the veteran's rest.

Tight ends coach Ron Middleton was honest about Jeremy Ruckert's quiet season.

Ruckert was also severely depressed in Sunday's loss.

“He'll be the first to say you have to play every time, no matter how limited your chances are,” Middleton said. “It's just a concentration problem. I still say kids can catch a BB gun in the dark. It's just a lack of concentration. And then the play ends.”

Ruckert, the Jets' third-round draft pick in 2022, has just 14 catches for 76 yards.

He has played 35 percent of the team's offensive snaps.
