Mariah Carey has been forced to cancel two additional shows on her Christmas Time Tour after contracting the flu.
On Friday, the 55-year-old singer announced that he was too ill to perform and canceled this weekend's performances at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and the UBS Arena in Belmont, New York.
“Newark and Belmont, I wish I had better news, but unfortunately I'm still not feeling well and I have to cancel my shows tonight and Sunday. I'm truly devastated and appreciate your support. Thank you. Love you, MC,” Carey posted. A post shared on X (formerly Twitter).

On Wednesday, the five-time Grammy winner canceled her concert at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, hours before she was due to take the stage.

“Pittsburgh, I'm sorry, but I've come down with the flu. My heart is broken that unfortunately we have to cancel tonight's show. We love you all so much,” Carey, known as the Queen of Christmas, wrote. spoke. ” he wrote to X.
Carey is next scheduled to perform at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on December 17th, the final stop on her tour. She has not yet announced whether that show will also be canceled.

The cancellation comes after Carey's mega-hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” regained the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for its 15th week this year. Released in 1994, this iconic Christmas anthem has topped the charts every year since 2019 and has sold over 10 million copies.

Last week, a scuffle broke out between fans while performing “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at her show in St. Louis, Missouri. In the video, two men were seen fighting with a woman trying to hold one of them back.
However, Carey seemed unfazed by the altercation and continued singing the song, ending the show.

In August, Carey officially announced that she would be embarking on a 20-city tour across the country to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her album Merry Christmas, which includes “All I Want for Christmas.” The tour opened on November 6th at the Yarmaba Theater in Highland, California.
Carey revealed details about her tour plans in an April interview with People magazine, telling the magazine, “I've been working on this day and night.”

“I worked with amazing people like Dr. Debbie Allen on this,” she added. Allen, who won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for his work on the 1980s TV show “Fame,” served as creative director and choreographer for the national tour of Christmastime.
“We're going to do some songs and duets that we've never done before,” Carey teased during a conversation with People. “I have to leave you with a few surprises.”
