Raiders nearly gave Giants the No. 1 pick help they needed

Just win, baby!

That's certainly what Giants fans expected from the Raiders in Monday night's game against the Falcons.

Las Vegas came close with two shots into the end zone in the final seconds, but the Raiders fell short and lost 15-9 to the Falcons, leaving them ahead of the Giants in the race for the No. 1 draft pick.

After the Giants suffered a decisive loss to the Ravens on Sunday, they briefly snatched the lead, but Vegas became the second team with 12 losses this season and fell back to first place.

The Raiders gave their fans a bit of a scare when they mounted a late comeback — one fan was holding a placard that read “Just Tank Baby” — but in the final seconds of the game Two Hail Mary attempts fell short.

The Raiders and Giants (both 2-12) found themselves locked in a dogfight for the top pick in the midst of disastrous seasons.

The big question here is: Will one or both teams lose the final three games of the season?

The Raiders play the Jaguars (3-11) next week, then play the Saints (5-9) on the road and close out the season at home against the Chargers (8-6).

The Giants close out the year by playing the Falcons (7-7) on the road, the Colts (6-8) at home, and the Eagles (12-2) at Lincoln Financial Field.

If the Raiders and Giants both lose, Las Vegas will retain the first overall pick and the Giants will receive the second overall pick.

If the Giants win any of their final three games, they could drop significantly in the draft position as five teams are 3-11.
