Eagles’ Jalen Hurts benefiting from ‘pretty privilege,’ ESPN NFL analyst says

Jalen Hurts has led the Philadelphia Eagles back into major Super Bowl contention despite criticism that some of his passing numbers have declined over the years.

Hurts had 290 passing yards and two touchdown passes in Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wearing a shiny chain, he began his postgame press conference by asking reporters, “Is that what they wanted to see?”

Domonique Foxworth, a former NFL defensive back and current ESPN analyst, said on Tuesday's “Get Up” that the lack of backlash for Hurts' comments after the game was a result of “a lot of privilege.” .

“He stood up in the postgame press conference and acted as if he was Josh Allen,” Foxworth said. “Look at this guy in Kangol who looks like Nino Brown…with $300 billion worth of diamonds in his neck and acting like he just ran 400 yards for three weeks straight. Masu.

“Hey, you've had a great week. And when he starts looking at you, everyone forgets about it.”

“Quite a privilege” or not, Hurts has kept the Eagles atop the NFC East through 15 weeks.

This season, he has 2,892 passing yards, 18 touchdown passes, and only five interceptions. His completion percentage (69.2%) is the highest of his career. And his 12 wins nearly match his 14-1 season as a starter in 2022.
