Former NFL punter and AFL legend Saverio Rocca rescued a shoplifter from an Australian shopping centre.
The former athlete witnessed thieves take action at Northland Shopping Center in Preston on Sunday and take merchandise from JD Sports.
“I saw a man, probably in his mid-20s, ripping clothes from a store clerk, and I said to the girl, 'I wonder if he's stealing that,' and she said yes,” Rocca said. told the Herald Suna Melbourne newspaper.
“I asked him to give it back and he said, 'Oh, I'm leaving,' and started running.
“Stupid me, I started chasing him and he was running out the door screaming some F-words, so I said, 'If I catch you, I'll fix you.' He decided to take off all his clothes and said okay said.
Rocca, 51, spent seven seasons in the NFL from 2007 to 2013 with the Eagles and then-Redskins.
During his time in the league, Rocca was considered one of the top punters in football, averaging over 42 yards per punt in each of his seven professional seasons.
Rocca is one of the top strikers in the history of the Australian Football League, with 748 goals, 14th all-time.

After 15 seasons in 2006, at the age of 33, Rocca burst onto the field and ultimately signed with Philadelphia.
