Americans across the country are excited about what the Office of Government Efficiency will or will accomplish, and Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) is no exception.
But he believes his own party needs to take a look in the mirror, too, before shifting all the blame to Democrats for the absurd spending of taxpayers' 10 cents.
“The concept that Republicans want to hide behind DOGE is real,” Roy explains to Liz Wheeler on “The Liz Wheeler Show.” “Look, I love my co-workers, but look, the dirt is on our hands.”
“Over the last 30 years, as Republicans, we have racked up $36 trillion in debt,” he continued. “So we need to get serious about cutting spending and cutting bureaucracy, or we're going to be listened to.”

Roy believes Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have “done a great job” and “give us a huge list of things we can cut.”
“We should do that, but we're going to have to get busy and do it. We're going to have to cut spending levels. We're also going to have to stop passing more programs to spend more money.” “You have to,” he explains.
“So work with DOGE,” he continues. “We have to deal with the tax policy that we want, but we have to cut waste and spending and reduce the deficit. Look in the mirror, you see.”
Wheeler couldn't agree more.
“Sir, that's great diplomacy,” she replied, “very strategic. Of course I agree with you 100%.”
