A series of Israeli airstrikes targeted Yemen's Houthi-held capital, Sanaa, in the early hours of Thursday, sparking fires at an energy facility and the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.

“Rocket and missile sirens were sounded in response to possible debris fall from the interception,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
At the time, sirens wailed in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, and loud explosions were heard overhead. The Houthis did not immediately claim a missile attack, but said they would issue a statement within hours, following the way the group claims attacks.

As Israel continues its war in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis carry out attacks on Israel and ships in a campaign to support the Palestinians, killing more than 45,000 people, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry.

The terrorist group has targeted more than 100 commercial ships since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023.
Houthi-controlled media are currently not providing information on damage or casualties from Thursday's attack.
