‘Democrats Hold All the Cards’

Unfortunately, Democrats have traditional media on their side and “hold all the cards” in the fight over the spending deal, Sen. Ron Johnson said, saying Democratic votes are needed for CR to pass. (R-Wis.) said during an appearance. Breitbart News Daily.

“But this is crazy dysfunction here,” he said while discussing the original spending agreement. “But unfortunately, the Democrats hold all the cards.”

He said the main reason for this is that the establishment media is on their side, blaming Republicans for the government shutdown even though it is Democrats who are primarily resisting “reasonable fiscal regulation.” He said he would.

“They have all the influence because the traditional corporate media is always on their side, no matter how much they were at fault when we stopped mortgaging our children’s futures. , if the government were to shut down, even if it resisted reasonable fiscal regulation. So from my point of view, avoid that, but don't stuff a bunch of crap into a continuing resolution,” he said. Pointed out that unfortunately it happened.

Asked about Democratic influence, Johnson said he needed a Democratic vote for speaker because there are a small number of Republicans in the House who would not support a continuing resolution of any kind.

“There are some Republicans who would never vote for a continuing resolution. … They're just vehemently opposed to it. So he needs Democratic votes in the House. I envy Speaker Johnson's position. I don’t think so,” he said.

Although he was in a tough position, the senator said, “Instead of negotiating with the Democratic Party behind closed doors, what I need to do is explain to the people.''

“Say, 'Listen, all we're going to do here is pass a clean continuing resolution. We're going to spend at last year's levels. We're not going to load up on junk. All we are thinking about is avoiding closure and getting our act together,” he said.

“Go win political arguments. It drives me crazy. I'm an accountant, but I'm basically a salesman. I just sell my program, and the Republican program is nothing like bankruptcies in this country or Trying to block children's mortgages “The future. And we don't like shutdowns either, so we're going to continue with what we spent last year, but we don't want to blow up spending with a bunch of special interest crap,” he said. I concluded that this was the Chairman's approach. It's an easy argument to win, so go for it.
