Two historic Manhattan lesbian bars are calling for a “woke” crusader to be taken to a psychiatric ward, fearing he could become the next “Luigi Mangione” in a violent outburst. A Queens woman, according to new filings in a defamation lawsuit filed by the Sapphire hotspot.
Anne-Marie Bompard called the accused CEO killer a “hero” and sent numerous violent threats in a series of social media posts and emails, according to lawyers for Cubby Hall and Henrietta Hudson. Allegedly written by Anne-Marie Bompard, it was a sign that she would follow in Mangione's bloody footsteps. .
“The defendant may be a copycat criminal.'' [of] “Luigi Mangione'' and capable of harming himself or others,'' Thomas Shanahan, an attorney representing both lesbian bars, said in the filing.
Both bars have been suing Bompard for defamation over the past few months, accusing them of spreading falsehoods that lesbian nightclubs are racist and condone violence against people of color.
But both clubs upped the ante on Tuesday's legal battle by attempting to link Bompard and Mangione on court records.
They submitted a list of violent threats that Bompard allegedly made online, were angry that Bompard's health insurance claim had been denied, and to praise the suspect who shot and killed Thompson. She clarified how she uses words such as “beauty.”
The gunman, who was brought back to New York City to stand trial, has become a darling of the online far left as someone who strikes a blow against corporate greed.
“Her belief that Mr. Mangione is a 'hero' shows a clear disconnect from reality and the consequences of her actions (and his),” Shanahan wrote.
Shanahan is asking a judge to issue a mental health warrant to compel 29-year-old Bompard to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
In an emailed statement to the Post, Bompard called the post “sarcastic” and said he was not endorsing Magione.
Despite Bompard's denials, new court filings say she continues to harass the club, even though a restraining order against her is in question.
“After this court issues a TRO, rather than stop harassing her and move on with her life, [Bompart] She continues a daily reign of terror via email,” the club wrote in court documents.
The newspaper said Bompard's list of alleged violent threats began last month, before the shooting.
In one of them, she talked about “my little list of people who, unfortunately, might soon get black eyes and nosebleeds.”
Another woman said that if she met the first bar employee who accused her, she would “step on that dog's poop in front of him.”
“We have found that threats of actual violence (in a very discreet and strategic manner, and only as a last resort) actually work,” Bompert wrote on her Instagram account, according to the filing. Posted.
But in an email to the Post, Bompard called the incident and the new accusations “a malicious act of slander on the part of the other party.”
“They want revenge for the ostensible 'defamation' I have committed against them,” she wrote in the Post. “They love drama, they love destroying people, so they play out the worst. The most dramatic thing I've said is a minority of the things I've said thoughtfully. , and I was in the minority in expressing my emotions, my earnest desire to communicate with them and how sad and hurt I was by their actions. ”
“I've been trying to address this privately with them for several months, and now that it's public, they're angry and calling me 'crazy,'” Bompert said. I wrote it. “Personally, I believe my reaction was logical, or at least inevitable. I could have reacted much worse, but I didn't.”
Vic Smith, the bar's manager and a trans man, said in court documents that he was banned from the cubbyhole in January after Bompert refused his advances and she became unstable.
Since then, Bompard has sent “approximately 500 emails and social media posts” alleging the bar is racist and violent, the complaint says. She also allegedly convinced the group to cancel the event at the bar.
The Queens native sent Smith violent and sexually explicit emails, including graphic depictions of him masturbating, court documents allege.
She told the Post that Smith “used his power in the queer bar community to harass and surveil bar staff at other bars” and even “sent someone into my home after me.” told.
According to Bompard's emails, she wants to bankrupt the longtime establishment and is threatening to file charges against the IRS, accusing the bar of selling drugs and evading taxes.
“My real plan is to remove Lisa and Vic's control over the cubbyhole, take ownership of it myself, and return it to its original, lovely space,” Bompard said in a Nov. 23 court filing. I wrote by email. “And that's what I'm going to do when I sue Lisa and Cubby for damages (lol).”
Bompert was sued by Henrietta Hudson for $40 million in defamation last September, and Cubby Hole joined the suit last month.
She is scheduled to return to court in January to be heard on both cases, including contempt claims that allegedly violated previous settlements.
