A man drove his pickup truck through the glass door of a J.C. Penney store at a Texas mall, injuring at least five people and killing one suspect, police said.
The incident occurred on a Saturday evening, a few days before Christmas, at the Killeen Mall in Killeen, Texas, about 110 miles north of Austin.
At a press conference Saturday night, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Brian Washko said the truck drove “several hundred yards” from the J.C. Penney store entrance.
Sergeant Waschko said the driver was “aggressively hitting people” and a startled shopper was injured, while a fifth person went to hospital on his own. The injured ranged in age from 6 to 75.
