Another body was recently discovered at the popular Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, where another body was also discovered.
The bodies added to the growing mystery come after at least six additional bodies were found in the lake throughout the year in 2024.
Police were called to investigate Friday after reports of a person dead in the water near the 1st Avenue Bridge and the 300 block of Cesar Chavez.
Austin Police Department (APD) said there were no signs of trauma on the body, so no crime is suspected, but the incident is being investigated.
Despite APD's efforts to quell unrest in the community, questions and speculation are rife.
Police believe most of the deaths were due to accidental drowning, as there are nightclubs and bars near the lake.
The latest body was discovered on December 1st.
The victim was recently identified as 73-year-old Thi Lan Nguyen.
Austin police said there is no connection to any other deaths this year.
In September, a man was seen acting erratically near East Cesar Chavez Street and Nueces Street.
He then went into the water but never resurfaced. He was later extracted and pronounced dead.
Back in February, a woman's body was found in about 6 feet of water off the north coast, and in April, a fisherman found another person floating in the water.
In July, a man was found suffering from blunt force trauma on a path near Rainey Street.
The man was confirmed dead shortly after.
In September, a body was found on a trail near a lake off Pleasant Valley Road.
