The Democratic Party's brand is “in the toilet,” party strategists said Monday.

“When the best way to win as a candidate is to run against your own party, that's very bad. Our candidate's failure is good. The 'D' next to his name means I mean, it's the status quo, and people don't seem to be like that,” Smith said.
Ryan said Democrats were “entrenched as a status quo party” and “couldn't redefine themselves on cultural issues,” but Schenker-Osorio was more critical.
“Well… you could even call this comparison 'generous' since toilets have obvious utility,” said Shenker-Osorio.
They also agreed that the biggest problem is the Democratic Party's inability to shake off its “elitist” image with working-class voters.
“The sign outside the headquarters should say, 'Caution: Entering an echo chamber.' I said move to Youngstown, but it could be Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit or Milwaukee.” said Ryan. But I seriously don't think that should be the case in Washington or anywhere on the coast. We need to send a bold signal that we are committed to reconnecting with people in the real world. ”

Mr. Bruni asked whether Democrats needed to stop “abusing Hollywood celebrities and dragging them on stage in droves,” and Mr. Ryan agreed. But Mr Smith said deeper reflection was needed.
“We need to look at who has been successful and overachieved this cycle and why,” she said. “Some of the top performers in the Lok Sabha elections could have had a more disparate profile…What they had in common was a willingness to run against the party brand and They talked less about how bad Donald Trump is and more about their vision for the future. ”

“I would like to add one more thing: These members are primarily among the first to call on Joe Biden to resign as a candidate. “I wasn't one of those Democrats who told me not to believe that. 'You should have seen it for yourself in the first debate,” Smith added.
