Alaska Airlines passenger opens emergency exit and climbs onto wing during deboarding

She was just spreading her wings.

After Flight 323 touched down and reached the gate in Seattle on Sunday, an “uneasy” Alaska Airlines passenger dramatically opened the plane's emergency exit and climbed onto the wing in a bizarre scene.

Passengers began disembarking from the commercial plane around 5 p.m., when an unidentified woman became impatient to disembark at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after the plane arrived from Milwaukee, the report said.

“While the aircraft was disembarking, a passenger on board became alarmed and opened the emergency exit on the wing. The woman climbed onto the wing,” a Port of Seattle spokesperson said. He told KIRO7.

Firefighters responded and rescued the woman from the building, after which the police emergency management team determined the woman needed to go to hospital for a medical check-up, a spokesperson told the station.

Alaska Airlines confirmed that the incident involving an “unwanted guest” has been safely resolved.

“We are working with the flight crew and airport officials to gather further details about what happened,” the airline told KIRO 7.

“We would like to thank our employees for their quick response and apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers.”
