A 47-year-old woman was stabbed to death and her son, who intervened to help his dying mother, was injured during a domestic confrontation inside a Brooklyn home late Sunday, authorities said.
Police say Antoinette Stewart-Gordon was stabbed in the neck and abdomen during a vicious attack inside a home on East 81st Street near Flatlands Avenue in Canarsie around 9:30 p.m. .
Police said her 15-year-old son tried to intervene but ended up suffering a cut to his hand.
Both victims were taken to Brookdale University Medical Center, where Stewart-Gordon succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The teen was listed in stable condition.
Police described the murder as a domestic incident and said the male suspect fled the scene.
His exact relationship to his family is unknown.
