Astros GM’s revealing comments with Alex Bregman breakup all but done
The Astros are reportedly considering moving Alex Bregman.
After acquiring Isaac Paredes from the Cubs in the Kyle Tucker trade and signing Christian Walker to a three-year, $60 million contract as a first baseman, the team doesn't appear to have room for a long-term third baseman.
The move comes after Astros general manager Dana Brown said negotiations with Bregman, who is represented by Scott Boras, are “stalled.”

“My view right now is Paredes will play third base and Walker will play first base,” Brown told reporters on Monday. “And Bregman is still a free agent.”
According to reports earlier this month, the Astros offered Bregman, 30, a six-year, $156 million contract to remain in Houston.
The two-time All-Star and two-time World Series winner clearly wants more than that.
“I think we made a very competitive offer and showed that we wanted him back,” Brown said of Bregman. “But we had to pursue other options. We couldn't just sit there. We acquired Paredes early in that trade and we wanted him to play third base or first base. I knew I could do it, and then when the opportunity came to add another bat, I just jumped at it.”
Boras sent a message to the Astros on Monday night.
“Over time, teams learn that if they're running away from leadership and talent, they're also running away from their ultimate goal.” Boras told The Athletic..
