I doubt it,'” garry mccarthyThe founder and creative director of Kabin Studio says: Helen Pitt. “But then I thought, let's talk about kids' energy. 'Do you think we can stop what we're doing?' You can't…why would you want to stop it? ”
Kabin Studio is a not-for-profit organization based in Knocknaheeney, Co. Cork, which runs workshops for young people who want to make music. In May, Kavin Crew (Cubbin Studio's 9+ group) recorded 'The Spark' in collaboration with refugee children from Lisdoonvarna Crewe, County Clare.
“I thought, wow, this is really amazing,” one child told Pid. “I fell in love with it right away.”
It quickly became a viral sensation, racking up 1.3 billion views on TikTok.
“One of Kavin's roles is to try to tell their stories through rap, songwriting, hip-hop, storytelling and poetry. And now we're doing it on an international level. ” McCarthy says.
