What is item location sharing?
Item location sharing is a new feature in the Find My app that lets you create a secure link to the location of an item. air tag or a compatible Find My Network accessory. Sharing this link with trusted individuals or organizations, such as airlines, can help you find misplaced items.

How item location sharing works
When you share an item's location, the recipient can view the item on an interactive map through a web browser. The location will update automatically and will include a timestamp when it was last updated. Shared location information expires after 7 days or when you are reunited with the item, whichever comes first.

How to update software to iOS 18.2 or later
First, update your software to iOS 18.2 or later.
- open setting
- tap common
- choice Software update
- tap Update now
- input your passcode and I agree to the terms
- Please wait until the installation is complete

- open “Find an app” On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac
- tap Continue at the bottom of the screen
- Tap. item Tabs at the bottom of the screen
- Select. air tag or item want to share

- Scroll down and tap Share item location
- tap Continue To generate a link
- You can do it now Copy link or share link There are also options to send via AirDrop, Messages, Email, or other apps.

- Click. up arrow To send as a text message
- Reminder that shared location information will expire 7 days

Privacy and security
Apple designed this feature with privacy and safety in mind. Shared location can be disabled by the owner at any time and will automatically expire after 7 days. Item owners can also see how many people have accessed their shared links. To stop sharing an item's location:
- open “Find an app” On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac
- Tap. item Tabs at the bottom of the screen
- Select. air tag or item I want to stop sharing the item's location
- Scroll down and tap Share item location
- click Stop sharing an item's location
- Click to confirm your decision Continue

One of the great things about this feature is that it has the potential to revolutionize package tracking. More than 15 major airlines, including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways, and Lufthansa, have incorporated this feature into their customer service processes to find mishandled or delayed bags. Note: Apple has expanded AirTag's location sharing feature to include Android users as recipients, but AirTag management still requires an iPhone or Apple device.
