Butler, 35, is worth $49 million this year with a player option for $52 million next year.

According to reports, potential suitors have been informed that Butler intends to decline that option in order to become a free agent.

Multiple teams have reportedly already contacted the Heat, with Butler open to the Suns, Warriors, Mavericks, Rockets, and more.

He is averaging 18.5 points per game this year, his sixth with the Heat.

The Heat gave 27-year-old Bam Adebayo a three-year, $166 million contract extension last offseason, but the team and Butler were unable to reach an agreement on an extension.

Miami also has 24-year-old Tyler Herro, who is enjoying the year of his career in the midst of a four-year, $120 million contract.

The Heat seem to prefer moving forward around their two young stars rather than Butler.

The Heat acquired Butler from the 76ers as part of a four-team trade in 2019.

Butler has led the Heat to the playoffs in each of the past five years, including two trips to the NBA Finals and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.
