Phoenix police say two people were taken into custody after three people were shot and one person was stabbed following an “escalated family dispute” at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Christmas Day.
Officers received an alert about the incident outside a restaurant in Terminal 4 around 9:45 p.m., said Phoenix Police Sgt.
“Preliminary information suggests a group of known individuals engaged in a physical altercation that escalated and one subject retrieved a handgun from the individual,” the police media advisory said. Ta.
Three people suffered gunshot wounds after the incident, an adult female was described as suffering “life-threatening” injuries, and two adult males sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and are in stable condition. That's what it means.

Police said two people involved were found in the parking lot and taken into custody, but they were only identified as “an adult male and a juvenile female.” Police said the man suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital in stable condition.
“There is no active threat at the airport and detectives are on scene and completing an initial investigation to determine the cause of this incident,” Phoenix police posted on X at 11:58 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. “No flights are affected by this ongoing investigation.”

The hold at the airport was lifted around 10:30 p.m. Local FOX10 reported. Terminal operations and the Phoenix SkyTrain were suspended as a precaution, according to an airport statement obtained by the television station.
On Thursday morning, a FOX 10 reporter said the entrances to Terminal 4's B and C gates remain blocked.
A sergeant at the scene Wednesday night said that in a separate incident, another man arrived armed after being falsely told there was a shooting at the airport. He got into an altercation with a police officer and was taken into custody before being booked into jail. No injuries were reported in the second incident.
Police said weapons were recovered in both incidents.
