‘Authoritarian’ Trump Cannot Deliver on Campaign Promises

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) claimed on CNN's “The Newsroom” on Friday that President-elect Donald Trump's comments about Panama and Greenland are because he “can't deliver on his promises.” .

Guest host Pamela Brown said, “I want to look at another dynamic that's going on right now. There's a war going on within MAGA right now against the co-chairs of President Trump's Department of Government Efficiency. They defends Musk and Ramaswamy's hiring of foreign technology workers. They cite the lack of engineers in the United States, which Ramaswamy calls American mediocrity. He said it's because it resonates with him.”

Mr Doggett said: “Their comments are great. I mean, we usually hear complaints from MAGA groups about how lazy these people who come to our country are, but now we have masks and crew members saying Americans are lazy.” It seems like it's too much.”

He added: “I think there needs to be a pathway to allow more people to come into this country. And of course I don't agree with that MAGA crew. Economic growth will slow if we don't have enough talent here to develop, and construction and service industries need workers of all skill levels. And I think Trump's approach, you know, that's why he's talking so much about buying and occupying Panama and Greenland, like all authoritarians, the president. When they fail to deliver on their campaign promises to lower prices and meet needs, they begin to point the blame elsewhere.''
