Jalen Hurts set to miss Week 17 with a concussion in Eagles concern

Jalen Hurts appears likely to miss Dallas Week at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles quarterback was injured in last Sunday's game against the Commanders and is still being treated for a concussion, but is unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Eagles head coach: “It's going to be difficult for him to get through this week.'' Nick Sirianni told reporters. Friday.

Hurts also suffered an injury to a finger on his left hand and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Philadelphia will likely rely on backup Kenny Pickett, who participated fully in Thursday's practice despite a rib injury.

Hurts was ejected from last Sunday's game in the first quarter after being hit in the head by Washington linebacker Frankie Lube and did not return.

Pickett, who has not yet started for the Eagles this season, was a reliever and went 14-of-24 for 143 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The Eagles also have QB Tanner McKee and signed QB Ian Book to the practice squad this week.

Philadelphia (12-3) could clinch the NFC East title with a win over Dallas on Sunday and host the Giants in Week 18, when Saquon Barkley could look to improve his record.

The Eagles are still chasing the No. 1 seed in the conference, but are one game behind the Lions (13-2) and the Vikings, although Detroit holds the tiebreaker.
