December has come to an end, and we're looking ahead to the final sprint to the end of the regular season.
Football is played on a strange schedule with NFL games being played on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and then again on Sunday, December 29th.
The quality of his play will certainly be questioned. Just look at the Seahawks vs. Bears game on Thursday Night Football, which was worse than anything else.
We're betting on two running backs this Sunday. One person is very efficient and the other is not at all.
Week 16 NFL Player Props
Alexander Mattison gains 44.5 rushing yards (-115, ESPN BET) | 12.5+ rushing attempts -125 | 21+ +1300 (Bet 365)
Alexander Mattison gets an easy matchup at running back.
The Saints rank 31st in defensive adjusted average (DVOA) against opposing rushing offenses.
Mattison is far from the best running back in the league, but he has been well-fed by the Raiders in the past.
With Cynthia McCormick going down with an injury before last week's game and missing the season, Mattison and reserve Amir Abdullah were the only answers to take over carries.
Before Mattison lost his starting spot to McCormick, Mattison averaged an atrocious 2.69 yards per carry on over 12.5 carries in four games.
He's embarrassingly inefficient, but he picks up the stone often enough to be worth the bet.
Over 12.5 rushing attempts and smashing the Bet365 and Hard Rock lines in total carries, he arrives at 13/1.
He has exceeded 20.5 carries only once this season, and for some reason the Raiders are still playing hard.
Do you want to bet on the NFL?
Bucky Irving 2+ Touchdowns (+550, BetMGM) | 150+ Rush Yards (14/1, Bet 365)
All I'm interested in is betting these long shot lines on Buccaneers star running back Bucky Irving.
Irving is scheduled to play briefly against the Panthers on Sunday. They have given up at least 100 yards in three straight games.
Irving is one of the league leaders in yards per carry and has one of the highest missed tackle rates.
Carolina is the only rushing defense worse than the Saints, ranking 32nd in DVOA.
