Overtime pay and other benefits have been slashed as more female police officers join disgraced top cop Jeffrey Madrid, The Post has learned.
The former chief's driver made an eye-watering $163,414 in OT last year, but resigned days after the Post exposed allegations of lewd conduct by his superiors at police headquarters, records show. are.
Records show Detective Ingrid Sanders is the seventh-highest earner in overtime in the department, with a total salary of $352,462 last year.
That puts her salary far behind top-ranked Lt. Quatisha Epps, who earned $403,515, including $204,453 in OT. Mr. Epps filed an explosive complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, alleging that Mr. Madley gave Mr. Epps overtime shifts in exchange for sex, The Post revealed in a front-page exclusive on Sunday.
On the day of the Post's investigation, Mr. Madrid resigned. Sanders was immediately transferred from One Police Plaza to the Queens police station and submitted his resignation on Dec. 23, the newspaper said in police documents.
Sanders is a first-class detective, the highest ranking detective, and had been working in the chief's office since December 2022. She followed Madley there from the patrol station. She did not return multiple messages.
Madrid also had a crush on the second detective, Ada Reyes, the Post reported.
Epps, Ms. Madley's human resources manager, told the Post that some of her OTs are dedicated to caring for Ms. Reyes.
“For the overtime he gave me, he told me to buy towels, things to buy from Walmart, a microwave, things like that so she didn't have to come out of pocket,” Epps said. spoke. “I work overtime and then I give her things.
“He was going to have me go apartment hunting with his girlfriend,” Epps said. “While I was at work, he asked me to get up and go look for an apartment with his girlfriend.''
In the end, Ms. Epps claimed that Mr. Madley asked Ms. Reyes and her family, who were having trouble finding housing, to rent an apartment in the names of their adult children on the Lower East Side.
Two sources confirmed the apartment arrangement to the Post.
As a rookie police officer, Reyes earned $42,500 in 2019, which rose to $154,405 in 2024, including $55,923 in overtime, according to city records.
When Reyes went to work at NYPD headquarters in 2023, Madley told Epps to put her somewhere other than his 13th-floor office, Epps told the Post.
“Ingrid [Sanders] And I worked directly for him, and he had very strict instructions to keep Reyes out of his office,” Epps said. “He didn't want her and Ingrid to come into conflict.'' Reyes was assigned to a domestic violence unit in another part of the building, she said.
Reyes did not return multiple calls and text messages seeking comment. No one was in the apartment when the Post visited. A neighbor saw her photo and confirmed that she and her husband lived there.
Epps' alleged overtime agreement with Madley began because she was having financial problems and her home was in foreclosure, she said.
According to the EEOC complaint, Madrid, the highest-ranking uniformed officer on the force, provided Epps with “unwanted sexual entertainment in exchange for the opportunity to work overtime” between June 2023 and Dec. 16, 2024. He reportedly requested.
Madley closed the door and texted her to “take your clothes off now.” She had taken a video and sent it to him, she told the Post.
Epps claimed they had sex eight to 10 times on the couch in Madley's office.
For the first time, Madley told the Post he had dreams of having anal sex with her and violently pulled her pants down, despite her repeatedly telling him not to. spoke.
“I think he's a predator,” Epps said.
At a press conference Friday, Madley's lawyer, Lambros Lambreau, said Epps was a “self-proclaimed swinger” who was being investigated for “stealing time and working overtime he never worked.”
“Now Lt. Epps has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar and is trying to deflect any wrongdoing from himself by making these allegations against Chief Madeley,” Lambreau said.
“But the truth is that Lt. Epps had a short-lived, consensual adult relationship with Jeff,” he said, adding that Lt. Epps had “an X-rated and risqué video and photos from Lt. Epps.” He added that he had a large amount of evidence including.
Madeley did not speak at the press conference and ignored questions shouted at him by the media.
