Pesky Pole hilariously obstructs broadcast of Fenway Bowl

Someone please get that pesky pole out of the way.

The right-field foul pole at Boston's Fenway Park, named after former player Johnny Pesky, obstructed viewing of Saturday's Wasabi Fenway Bowl broadcast between North Carolina and UW.

Fenway, which opened in 1912, is known for its obstructed seats, but while the field was stretched out, a yellow foul pole had a full view of the game on the right side of the screen, blocking some players' view. From the third base dugout to the center field wall.

Troublesome Paul made his presence known at the Fenway Bowl. Terrible announcement/X

Sportswriter Roger Sherman mentions it on Blue Sky. The past two Fenway Bowl games used “bizarre” but different camera angles and “did not include the giant yellow pole that obstructed the view of the game.”

Patriots legend Bill Belichick was hired as the Tar Heels' new coach in 2025 earlier this month, but did not attend the game.

UW won the game 27-14.
