Shohei Ohtani's 2024 is coming to an end on a high note, which is pretty impressive considering what a great year it's been.
This year marks the first in a 10-year, $700 million deal (98% of which is fixed) for the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar, and he's making good on that promise.
Ohtani, who did not pitch while recovering from elbow surgery, was aiming to become the first player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season, winning his third MVP award in the past four seasons.

Personally, the Dodgers were underdogs in the postseason, but they defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series.
With just a few days left in the year, Otani has announced that he plans to become a father.
Ohtani posted a photo on Instagram of his now famous dog Decoy lying next to his costume and shoes, as well as an ultrasound photo. The gender of the baby was not revealed as the color at the scene was pink and the shoes were blue, but Ohtani apparently used a boy emoji to hide the ultrasound photo.
“Can't wait for this little newcomer to join our family soon!” Otani captioned the post.
In February, Otani revealed that he had married an “ordinary Japanese woman” named Mamiko, but did not say when they got married.
