CNN commentator Scott Jennings said President Biden is leaving office in “disgrace.”
Mr. Jennings appeared on CNN's “State of the Union” panel Sunday with host Dana Bash and contributor Karen Finney to discuss Mr. Biden's term as it draws to a close.
Finney said that although concerns emerged earlier this year about Biden's health and fitness to serve as president, Biden has been a generally good president and the impact of his accomplishments will be felt for years to come. He claimed to be deaf.
“I think he's going to step down in disgrace,” Jennings disagreed. Highlighted by Mediaite. “Hunter Biden's pardon was a disgrace. He will be remembered primarily for inflation and the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.”
Jennings went on to highlight concerns that Biden's staff concealed his cognitive decline “for four whole years” ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
“I think it's going to be a really ugly chapter,” he said. “Because of that, his stature as president is diminished.”
“I don't think we yet know the full extent of what they've done to cover up what they've been doing in the West Wing,” Jennings concluded.
With less than a month left until President-elect Trump's inauguration, Biden has begun some of his last-minute planning for his presidency.
In a controversial move, he pardoned his son Hunter Biden and commuted the sentences of 37 federal death row inmates.
