- EUR/USD could fall further due to weak short-term price momentum.
- The first support level is seen at 1.0332, the two-year low recorded on November 22nd.
- The 9-day EMA serves as an immediate resistance at the 1.0417 level.
EUR/USD has regained recent losses from the previous session and is trading around 1.0410 in European time on Tuesday. Looking at the daily chart, we can see that the pair is confined within a descending channel pattern and the bearish bias continues.
The 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI), a key momentum indicator, remains below the 50 level, confirming the persistent bearish trend in the EUR/USD pair. Additionally, the 9-day exponential moving average (EMA) is below the 14-day EMA, suggesting weak near-term price momentum.
On the downside, the two-year low of 1.0332 recorded on November 22 seems to be the main support for EUR/USD. A successful break below this level will strengthen the bearish bias and put downward pressure on the pair, which could push it through near the lower end of the descending channel at the 1.0010 level.
In terms of resistance, the EUR/USD pair poses an immediate barrier at the 1.0417 level of the 9-day exponential moving average (EMA), followed by a test of the 1.0433 level of the 14-day EMA. A breakout of these EMAs could bring the price closer to the top of the descending channel at 1.0500 and then reach the 7-week high at the 1.0630 level.
