2024 Fantasy Football year-end awards: Learning from Ja’Marr Chase

How do you decide who is best at a particular task? Use the single metric that matters most and declare that the person who is best at that is the best at everything Or do you weigh multiple factors before making a decision?

Of course, madmen prefer more than one element. The more data you use, the more likely you are to arrive at a good choice. Moreover, the more factors you consider, the more complex and interesting the process becomes.

So how many variables did we use to determine our fantasy MVP? Enough to make us feel confident in our decision, but not enough to make analyzing the process all that fun. Think week-to-week volatility sprinkled with a tablespoon of scoring, a tablespoon of position value, a teaspoon of draft cost, and unquantifiable factors. Subjectively.

Mix all these ingredients and let it stand and you will have a delicious jammer chase.
