Jimmy Butler makes cryptic comments amid Heat trade rumors
The Jimmy Butler drama took yet another turn Tuesday.
Amid trade rumors, the Heat star gave a cryptic look when asked if he wanted to remain in Miami.
“That's a good question. You know what? Not really,” Butler told reporters. “But now I'm here, so I'm going to make the most of it. I'm going to compete, and I'm going to win. That's all I have. That's a lot of talk. There's a lot of noise, and I don't mind it at all. I love it. I thrive on it.
“But it keeps you wondering. That's how it is. The world is wondering how many times you have to come back and ask me something. I like that. It's good to be talked about, but it's even better to be wanted.''

Butler also remained mum when asked about his reported list of preferred trade destinations (Suns, Warriors, Mavericks, Rockets).
“Does it matter? Does it? I don't think so,” Butler said. “It's all out of my control anyway. Like I said, I'm here, hoo-hooing.”
He will be returning to the team after missing five games due to illness.
Heat president Pat Riley made it clear last week that the franchise has no intention of shipping the six-time All-Star out of Miami, even though trade talks have intensified in recent weeks.
As for whether Jimmy Butler wants to stay in Miami.
“Normally we do not comment on rumors, but all of this speculation is a distraction to our team and is not fair to our players or coaches,” Riley said in a Dec. 26 news release. “Therefore, let me be clear that we do not intend to trade Jimmy Butler.”
Butler and the Heat were unable to reach an agreement on an extension over the summer, leaving Butler's future in South Beach up in the air after this season.
