That was one of the Giants' biggest questions and concerns heading into the season.
Daniel Jones was in great health, but on top of that, the quality of the offensive line was great as well. Was it the improved force needed to end years of exploration and struggle? The 2023 Giants allowed a franchise-record 85 sacks, the second-most sacks in NFL history. Something had to be done.
The unit has been revamped for 2024, with only two starters returning: left tackle Andrew Thomas and center John-Michael Schmitz.
General manager Joe Schon signed three veterans in free agency to immediately fill out the starting lineup. John Runyan Jr. started at left guard for the Packers. Jermaine Elemunor came over from the Raiders to play right guard, or right tackle, if Evan Neal hasn't fully recovered from ankle surgery. And Greg Van Roten was brought in from the Raiders as depth at all three inside line spots.
