President-elect Donald Trump released a statement about the New Year's Day attack in New Orleans, calling it “an act of pure evil.”
“Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department. The Trump Administration is committed to ensuring that the City of New Orleans investigates and recovers from this act of pure evil. ” he posted on Truth Social.
He also suggested that the attack was the work of someone from outside the country.
“When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by the Democratic Party and the fake news media, but it turns out to be true. “The crime rate is at a level that no one has ever seen before,” he said.
