There is at least one link between the deadly terrorist attack in New Orleans and the Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas on New Year's Day: the car-sharing app Turo.
Officials have said so far there is no evidence that the two incidents may be connected, but investigators believe the pickup truck used by the terrorists and the Tesla truck that exploded on Bourbon Street determined that all of the items were procured using Turo.
Turo is a platform that allows users to rent vehicles from trusted hosts registered on the site.
Users enter their location and are shown a variety of cars available for rent in the area, from sports cars to minivans.
Car rental requirements to secure a car from Touro are very limited.
According to Turo's website, Turo rental cars do not need to have a U.S. driver's license or have personal insurance to rent a car.
Renters must have a valid driver's license and be 18 years of age in the United States to be a Turo account holder.

The site says most hosts will arrange for rental cars to be delivered to guests.

Renters can also pick up the car at a designated location, such as a parking lot or home.
Contactless pickup methods with lockboxes and app-based unlocking are also common.
Turo has operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and France.
Shamsud Din Jabbar killed at least 15 people and injured more than 30 New Year's Eve revelers in a car attack in New Orleans' French Quarter early Wednesday morning.
Authorities said Jabbar used Turo to rent the white Ford electric pickup truck used in the terrorist attack.
Late Wednesday, a Tesla Cybertruck parked outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas exploded, killing one person.
Law enforcement said the Cybertruck was rented using the Turo app.
No arrests have been made in connection with the Tesla truck explosion, which is being investigated as a possible act of terrorism.
