NYPD says ‘not a terrorist attack’ after 10 shot outside NYC event space

New York City Police Department (NYPD) warns the public that 10 people were shot to death outside the Amazura Nightclub in Jamaica, Queens on New Year's Day in New Orleans, saying it was not a terrorist attack. It reassured me. .

Officers received multiple 911 calls about “several people” being shot at a private event around 11:18 p.m. According to police, there were about 90 people inside the event venue.

Police said three or four men were walking toward the venue and fired more than 30 shots at a group of people lined up outside the venue, hitting multiple vehicles.

The men drove west on 91st Street toward 143rd Street, where they got into a light-colored sedan with out-of-state plates. Police said the shooting was “not a terrorist attack.”

The victims, six women and four men, were taken to a nearby hospital. None of the victims are in serious condition and are expected to survive.

A heavy police and ambulance presence was seen outside the Amazura nightclub, which has a capacity of 4,000 people and regularly hosts DJs and performances.

The NYPD told Fox News that police are searching for a gray Infiniti sedan that fled the scene.
