Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of anti-Israel demonstrators occupied New York City's Times Square on Wednesday night, just hours after apparently ISIS militants reportedly killed more than a dozen people in New Orleans. did.
Many of the demonstrators wore keffiyehs or masks and denounced US support for Israel. They carried Palestinian flags and placards that read, “End all US aid to Israel,” “Zionism is cancer,” and “Lift the siege of Gaza now!” and “opposed to war against Iran.”

The New Year's Day protests in Times Square came just hours after Shamsuddin Jabbar, a 42-year-old ISIS militant from Texas, allegedly mowed down dozens of people celebrating the New Year in New Orleans. At least 15 people were killed and 35 injured in an apparent terrorist attack.
Mr. Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police moments later. Two police officers were also injured in the shooting, but are currently in stable condition.
It is unclear whether the New York City protests occurred in response to the violence in New Orleans. The Times of Israel reports that since the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks, pro-Hamas activists have taken to the streets on major U.S. holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Independence Day to rally support for their cause.
