The Department of Justice (DOJ) has spent more than $100 million over the past four years on educational programs related to restorative justice, social-emotional learning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), according to a new report.
Parents Defending Education (PDE), a right-learning organization that aims to “take back schools from activists who impose harmful policies,” released its latest findings on Thursday. According to the report, the Department of Justice awarded and distributed $101,139,42 in grants to more than 900 school districts in 36 states from 2021 to 2024.
The report, first reported by the Daily Wire, said the Department of Justice spent $45,207,178 on “project proposals that broadly reference restorative practices and social-emotional learning,” and “proposed diversity, equity, and inclusion.” $32,084,529 was spent on “proposals to discuss or clearly explain how to do so.” This project aims to improve outcomes for specific demographic groups,” and $19,881,347 was spent on consultant certification. “We often promote divisive concepts such as critical race theory, critical gender theory, and queer theory.”
