Local and federal authorities said the attacks in Las Vegas and New Orleans were not related.
At a press conference Friday afternoon local time, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill revealed why authorities are not considering a connection to the devastating attack.
“Why don't you think about what happened in New Orleans and what happened in Las Vegas? The simple answer to that is that we don't find anything that actually takes us in that direction. ” he said. “While there are coincidences that we have talked about very openly, throughout this investigation we have not found anything that directly links the two attacks.”
